Boom! That hit me like a bolt of lighting. Then the SeeMore instructor made an innocuous comment. My friend was getting a putting evaluation and getting a new putter. My great look at birdie invariably became par, or sometimes even a bogey.įinally, one day, I was with a friend at the SeeMore Putter headquarters. ![]() I'd manage to hit a fantastic shot onto a green, have 5 feet for birdie, but just could never close the deal. I'd try all sorts of different techniques. Sometimes I'd miss right, sometimes I'd miss left. I couldn't put my finger on what was causing my misses. ![]() I'd do a good job of making a good read, rolling a long lag putt to a few feet, but miss the short putt. Too many for someone who is supposedly a good putter. I'd end up with 3 or 4, or 5 three-putts in a round. I'd make a great run at the hole, but miss by an inch, burn the edge, etc. However, far too frequently, I've been "almost" a good putter. So, I've always considered myself a pretty good putter.
